I get a lot of delay when opening the popup menu from the start button,
or pull-downs from explorer. How do I speed it up? I know there's a
setting somewhere.

Thanks,

Greg

You want to get "Tweakui". It is a powertool available on
the Microsoft website somewhere.

When you run tweakui (on XP, use the Start::Run Program
and type in tweakui) select the Mouse option. There will
be a Menu Speed setting. Moving this all the way to fast
gives you instant menus.

Get the free TweakUI utility from Microsoft.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp [...] ertoys.asp

Open tweakUI and select the Mouse option. You will see a slider to increase
or decrease the Menu Speed.

Hi,

If you have nvidia video card or any graphic card that enhance the video
display, there will be a setting , make menus appear faster as well as
windows minimize and maximise faster.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop MenuShowDelay

the smaller the number the quicker the menus appear.

But DO NOT set the delay to 0--it can cause the system to hang.
