Here is a build that my fellow forum members helped me come up with. It is assembled and all seemed well until I plugged my headphones in the front jack - no sound. I tried them and a pair of speakers (all working in other systems) and still no sound. I have updated my drivers and tried all logical and obvious settings checks. However, when I use a monitor or t.v. with hdd (plugged into my Radeon GPU), I get sound. Is the Radeon card circumventing my motherboards on-board sound?

Solution
make sure that your front panel audio cables are connected to your motherboard inside it sounds like there not, if thats not the case then it could be a bad 3.55mm audio port though id put money on it either being plugged in incorrectly or not at all

There were two different connectors on the Cooler Master 912's audio attachment. I had something labeled "AC 97" plugged into the motherboard, but I should have had the "HD Audio" plugged in. Thanks for the help...
