URGENT: AMD Athlon and Intel I3 need help deciding!

We'll be upgrading to an 3.2GHZ AMD Athlon II x2 presently. I've just wondered is it worth it or should I wait until we can buy an Intel CORE i3-2100 3.10GHz; an AMD A4-3300 2.5GHz APU or an AMD A6-3650 2.6GHz APU. These would cost twice as much here next door to Taiwan ;) ?
My other options: Intel Pentium DUAL CORE E6600 3.06GHz; AMD SEMPRON 145 2.8GHz; Intel Pentium G620 2.60GHz; Intel Pentium G620 Processor 2.60GHz...
All I want to do is Flight Simulator X and I believe the AMD Athlon II x2 is adequate since having everything maxed out is not the main goal (Although I at least want to get decent graphics to say the very least)... And for twice the money, which I DON'T have I could buy an I3. Should I save up or settle for the AMD Athlon II x2? My personal vote is for the AMD Athlon II x2, but I don't know what great a difference there is!

THIS IS QUITE URGENT, WE'LL HAVE TO DECIDE SOON!

  1. Both are, I guess"low range" but for gaming I would go with the I3. What do you have now? Are you getting a new motherboard or keeping the motherboard you have now.

We're getting a complete thing... Box, mobo, RAM, CPU, ect. Only thing missing is a video card so I'll have to get one.
  3. Save up and the i3 will last you several years. The Athlon will become just about obsolete in a year or so.

    I agree.
  5. i3, because of long term upgradeability.
