Many of the Z77 motherboards are good. I have no problems recommending Gigabyte, Asus, Asrock and some others. However, it's going to come down to:
a) price, and
b) features
c) Warranty

If I had to choose, it would be this one based on features and user reviews (always look at the 1 or 2/5 scores and see what's going on if there are a high percentage):

Asrock is an oem asus anyways... that being said asus tends to exorcise more quality control.
Which brand is best depends on what is important to you... Do you want a good board for a great price...Asrock. Do you want a great board for a higher price...Asus

IMO if you are willing to spend ut for as much as the professional series asrock, I would be more inclined to get one of these...

You would be happy with either board, and asus has the best warrantee in the bus.

Would also switch out the psu for a good corsair ,antec ,seasonic ,xfx ,pc power& cooling brand in the 500 to 700 watt range... depending on your gpu set-up

Asrock for cheaper product that accomplishes OP's Needs. There were alot of dead slots going on last year with the extreme3/gen3 model.. memory slots, pcie slots. thats why I suggested asus for qc and warrantee. It was amazing cause people were on here suggesting that board left and right.

I even bought one and guess what rma. It was a great board once I got one that worked...! I haven't heard anything negative about the 77 series boards tho.

Yeah, I guess I should have used the word, offshoot, rather than oem. my mistake. :ouch:

I forgot how politicaly correct one must be to come to the same conclusion I did...Pick Asus first

Cool. I am glad to hear yet more confirmation that there have been less issues with the 77 series boards...

If I thought there would be an issue I would have told the OP to definately not get asrock!

I've been using my Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 for a couple years now. It's been very reliable, and I can attest to it's stability. My wife's computer is loaded with an ASUS board which I believe is a bit older. I notice the ASUS board lacks a few of the features my board has (charging while shut down, for example), but ultimately performs fairly well. I'm not sure if that was missing due to it simply being an older board.

Another point to note: The install disk that came with my ASRock installed a lot of third party software, and totally unnecessary software from ASRock.

The next MoBo I buy will probably be ASUS, but I certainly wouldn't make any decisions without looking at the lineups from both of these companies.

Do your research, and you won't be disappointed. Hope I've helped.
