Cant boot with New Hard drive

Please help I am Trying to boot my Acer Aspire 3680 Laptop it shows Opperating system not found. Any Advice please?????

insert the windows disk - set first boot device to the disk drive in bios ....save and restart.the rest should be easy.do format.

Since you're talking about a laptop, I doubt you got a Windows Installation disc with it. So you're going to have to borrow a disc from someone, or maybe buy one, and follow this guide - http://pcsupport.about.com/od/operatingsystems/f/clean-install-windows.htm

For your sake, I hope you didn't have ALL of your data stored on your primary hard disk partition.

You can try restoring the system (Alt+F10) http://www.ehow.com/how_5063933_reset-acer-laptop.html
But I'm afraid you'd loose all data.

I suggest you start taking back-ups of your data, if you haven't already. Preferably onto an external drive, for added safety.
Trust me, having back-ups of your cherished data gives you a great deal of peace of mind whenever you run into any troubles with your PC.
