Can i get a different model cpu fan than stock?

Hello,
Im trying to upgrade the cpu fan in my computer but im worried about the little hook-up where you plug the fan into the computer. Is there a way to get a fan I want and still plug it in to the computer????

Yes, cpu fans are either 3 wire or 4 wire. A 3 wire fan will work on a 4 pin motherbd header but unless your motherbd supports controlling a 3 wire fan it will run at full speed.

It will either be a 3 pin or 4 pin connector on the motherboard. If I'm understanding you correctly, I'd say that what is on you motherboard is 3 pin.
