2 Fans off one header

I'm using an Asrock Extreme 4 Z77 which has really crappy fan control. I'm planning on powering 2 identical 140mm fans from one 3pin with a Y splitter, and two identical PWM 120mm fans usinc another Y splitter, all controlled in Speedfan.

In Speedfan I don't have an issue controling just the one fan with these headers, would anything change if I used splitters? Any damage to the motherboard possible?

I have fans with pass through, so a y splitter should be fine. I can't see why else they'd sell 'em. I'd guess that speedfan will see them all as one fan though.
