I have a Intel pentium D 2.8 ghz processor
Corsair 450 watts PSU
2 gb ram
Asus motherboard supporting lga775 series processor

My 9800gt is dead.So i am planning to upgrade to xfx ati 6770 radeon card

Can my system handle it?

12v rail in psu is 33A

Also suggest is there a better upgrade than 6770 card?

Can i fit 2.1 pci express card in 2.0 pci slot?

Thanks in advance

Hello,
First, your system can handle the 6770 (it consumes 3W more), there's no problem with the PCIe slot but I doubt you will notice a huge improvement over the 9800gt.
Second, what is your budget? Whatever it is, your CPU and your 2GB of RAM will be holding your system back specially for gaming.

Thanks for the reply

you mean to say that there would not be any improvement with he 6770 card?

Since my 9800gt is dead i have to buy a new one.Is it fine to upgrade to 4 gb ram?

Budget under 8K

hmmm I couldn't find you a gpu along with all the other necessary upgrades but here is my OPINION :)

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131728 65USD
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103872 75USD
Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231423 20USD

Notes! for the ram, you can grab one of those and put in another one later if you like or just go with a 2x2g (4g) kit :)
also, when you get some more money i suggest grabbing a 6770... but like i said, no point in upgrading the gpu if its gonna be bottlenecked by the cpu and giving the same performance

Total: 160 USD or 7996 INR

Im sorry I don't know any places to buy from in India D:

Thanks a lot man

But the 8000rs budget was for the gpu only

The 9800gt which is dead now was performing well and assassins creed brotherhood was running well in max settings since i ply with res of 1024*768.

Hence will the 6770 perform the same ?

Asus NVidia Geforce GTX550 TI - 1GB DDR5-cost is 8025Rs
XFX ATi Radeon HD6770- DDR5- 1 GB cost is 6950Rs
XFX ATi Radeon HD6790- DDR5- 1 GB-8225RS

Whic card to choose without updating my cpu/mobo/ram to get better performance since i will ply at resolution of 10248768
