You have an old dual core if you buy a gtx 590 your cpu would most definitely bottleneck your system, even a lesser graphics card would most likely bottleneck your system as well.
a 590 is not a good card in terms of dollars/performance, your better off getting a gtx 560 ti or a 570. However, depending upon the game, you cpu will bottleneck both of those cards as well.
If I was in you shoes I would buy the 560 ti and perhaps upgrade to a quad core 775 socket (assuming your mobo supports quads. You would be better off if you upgraded to a quad cpu and bought the gtx 560 ti than buying a gtx 590. the options would cost about the same (off the top of my head).
edit. What monitor resolution are you playing on???
Thanks for your informations. I use 1920x1080
Well, if I choose a GTX 580 + Quad Core, would it be good ?
Sorry for my bad english :/
Pok
The fact that your CPU is dual-core is only part of the problem. Frankly, the generation of chips that will fit in the 775 socket will bottleneck a GTX 590, so unless you can upgrade your motherboard and RAM too (in which case everyone here will suggest an i5-2500K) then don't bother with a GTX 590.
If I buy a 580GTX and a Quad Core socket 775; it would be good ?
no - still it is likely you bottleneck (limit) the graphics performance due to the processor speed/type.
i speak from experience, an older system I have had a Q6600 (quad core) 775 socket cpu and did limit a single GTX 460 (the 460 runs at 560 speeds+)
If I buy a 580GTX and a Quad Core socket 775; it would be good ?
On 1080p and a bit of a OC and youll be ok
But save the cash. Build a nice Sandy system with a 6950. That will run on your resolution perfect. Rather than wasting it on a card where a guy with a 6950 will see the same fps as you
With the cost of a 590 at around 700-800 dollars. My advice to you is. By and intel core i5-2500K ~ $240 buy a descent SB motherboard~ $200 buy yourself a nice 6950 ~ $270 then spend the remaining ~ 50ish dollars on some new ram and you wil have a good gaming system
