Forum Graphics & Displays : Graphics Cards EVGA GTX460 2win help(thoughts)

long story short. without realizing i bought a gtx 460 2win (same idea as a gtx295 2 gup's on 1 PCB) i install the card both gpu's are found but only one seems to be doing the work. i read somewhere that the card needs an SLI board to use both the gpu's, can that be right? wouldn't that defeat the puropose of 2 gpu's on 1 pcb? why would a SLi board be required if the card only takes 1 pcie slot? so only 1 gpu is doing the work do to SLI not being enabled, any thought on how to get this thing to work with both gpus?

Download the latest Nvidia drivers and go into the Nvidia control panel, click on Set SLI and PhysX configuration then set the follwoing , Maximise 3d performance , this will enable the SLI.

What is your motherboard model?
Also have you downloaded the latest drivers for your motherboard?

I think it is your mobo.. Your chipset is probably your culprit..

I agree , It appears your motherboard does not state that it is SLI/xfire capable

hum... what a waste of video card! no motherboard that has 1 pcie slot is sli/xfire capable... time for me to sell this video card!!! so i guess i would not be able to run a 590 or a 6990 either right?
