Sorry my system: intel core 2 duo e4400 oc to 2.9ghz, 4gb ddr2 800 memory 2x2, geforce 9600gt 1gb, 850w psu, thermaltake cpu cooler

Disable indexing.

Ultimate tweak is to use program to gut win 7, I have second boot drive with modified windows 7 (windows 7 light)
I use it to run video edit station and gaming, you use your win 7 disk+ program to customize, after all done its like 5GB whole windows, boots in 3 seconds.
Think its bit on "grey" side so can't post any details, but if you got little PC know how, you can make perfect gaming station.
