Crossfire bottom card being used

Hi everyone!
Question regarding crossfire of 6950 HD
The bottom card appears to be acting as the 'main display' despite the monitor being plugged into the top card. The temperature is higher for the bottom card and when I disable crossfire, only the bottom card is being used rather than the top....
I figured that on the basis of where my monitor is plugged into, that should act as the 'main' display card. Any ideas???
