Hey there guys and gals, I have an old computer with HP m9450f guts, stuck in an even older Antec P160 case. I'm not happy with the load temps I've been getting (they've been as high as 72C), so I've decided to get a new heat sink.

My question:

Will the Hyper 212+ fit on an ASUS IPIBL-LB / Benicia-GL8E?

For reference, here's the motherboard:

Thanks in advance!

Hello sk91;

It looks OK for the socket area. But what's above the edge of the motherboard inside the case? The PSU? The Hyper 212+ will need about 60mm (2.36"), minimum, from the center of the CPU heat spreader upwards toward the top of the case. For a normal configuarion.

How big is that case? You need ~159MM clearance from the CPU heat spreader to the side of the case panel.

In this picture you can see the Hyper 212+ and a top mounted PSU.
To me it looks as if that motherboard has the CPU socket further inboard than on your IPIBL-LB (Benicia). In the normal configuration I think your PSU would be in the way.
You might be able to rotate the cooler 90 degrees and have it mounted horizontal instead of vertical.

You might want to look at one of the 92mm coolers and see if it can fit.
