Greetings,
I was planning on buy an e6600 soon, any price drops soon? If so to what? Or should I just buy now? Also any recommendations for solid motherboards? I don't need too many gimicks, just reliable, good overclocking potential.

dont know about price drops , but get E6750 , its faster and cheaper

the E6600 is old stock, when retailers buy in they add a % and sell at that price until they buy new stock at a cheaper price... if a product stops selling / being sold to them by suppliers then quite often a retailer leaves the price high until they realise it's obsolete and then sell it off dirt cheap just to get rid of it - it would appear that the E6600 is in that middle ground where it's not obsolete yet but they bought in at a high price and are leaving the sale price high

So any idea when the e6600 is going to drop below 150? Sounds like it should be soon? Also the e6750 is <200 right now. Should I just buy that? Or anything else new around that price coming out in the forseable future? i.e. october/november?
 
If you willing to do a pretty easy OC, than try these two out and save the $ for a good GPU or upgrade to Penryn later when you want another boost in performance.
