Situation: I have an alienware M15x. Should I spend ~$200 to upgrade my laptop and buy a GTX 460m (from a GTX 260m) or keep that $200 and save up a couple more to get another GTX 580 and dual SLI my desktop?

If i upgrade my laptop I can at least make my purchase worth while and at least keep it close to up to date as possible. However they did take this model off their store, may be wait for their motherboard?

half a week im out of the house so I do use my laptop a lot.

If you use your laptop more than your desktop, get GTx 560M because it'll blow the 460m away like nothin'..... If you use your desktop to play high-end gaming like ModernWarfare3/BattleField3, than get GTx 580 SLI...

Note: If your resolution is 1920x1080, don't get SLI unless you got 2560x1440+ than get SLI...

Recommend to do, Get 560m!

I wish but they dont offer drivers for the 560M to optimize for the M15X... best upgrade I see in dell driver downloads is 460m... :(  I have no idea where to get drivers for a 560m on a decommissioned m15x. Nvidia would tell you to go to the manufacturer's support site and well that would just make me go around in circles.

Model of laptop does not matter, the driver is what matters... Get driver here http://www.pcpitstop.com/drivers/download/NVIDIA~GeForc...

EDIT: Get from here lol... the link above doesn't have downloads, but this should... http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
