Trying to decide between IvyBridge (3770k/3570k) and SandyBridge-E (3820) in regards to crossfire/sli. I'm thinking about adding another 7970 later down the road for 2x crossfire which is my limit for GPUs. I know the 3820 has 40 lanes but if I'm not going tri/quad crossfire is it even worth it? Will IvyBridge handle dual crossfire fine enough for gaming? Thanks in advance.

yes, many pros say that 2011 is just for stuuupid parallel apps, like media creation etc, because it has so much power, ivy will be fine even in quad sli, due to true pci-e 3.0 where 4x 3.0 is the same bandwidth as 8x 2.0
