Radeon HD 6970 Eyefinity question?

I currently have a GTX 570 1280MB and would like to run a triple monitor setup. I'm building a PC for my brother for Christmas and I'm thinking about dropping my GTX 570 in his build and getting a Radeon 6970 2GB for myself. Would a single Radeon HD 6970 2GB run Battlefield 3 in Eyefinity on Medium to High Settings? The Monitors would be 1920 x1080 resolution X3.

My current rig is:
I5 2500k OC'd 4.5GHz
AsRock Extreme 3 Gen 3
EVGA GTX 570 1280MB
Corsair 750watt PSU
8GB Ripjaws RAM
1TB Samsung Spinpoint
Hyper 212+

Help is greatly appreciated.

A single 6970 will run an eyefinity setup somewhat decently. Medium you should be good, high maybe not. Also, a 570 is faster in most cases than a 6970, and is slightly faster in BF3 as well.

For 3 monitors support with GTX 570, you'll have to get another one and run them in SLI to support 3 Monitors.
A single HD 6970 is capable or driving up to 4 monitors. For the best performance you can get @ high settings using Eyefinity, you have to CF the HD 6970.
but yes you'll be able to play at medium to high settings with some settings turned down like MSAA/AA.

What will run Battlefield 3 on a Tri monitor setup better, the GTX 570 in sli or the Radeon 6970 in crossfire?

Single GTX 570 is doing much better than the HD 6970 specially in BF3, but the CF scaling of HD 6K series is better than the GTX 5K series so 2 HD 6970s in CF will perform better than 2 GTX 570s in SLI.
