DDR 1333 VS DDR 1600

I'm currently rocking DDR 1333 RAM (8gb). However, it seems that in the community, the preferred RAM is of the 1600 flavor.

Is it worth upgrading my current RAM to 16GB or about 40 bucks, or spend 50 bucks and get 8GB of 1600 Mhz RAM?

1333 is a store brand, but I read that it performs well. 1600 is Corsair Vengeance.

I am mainly about gaming.

Asrock Extreme 4 Z77
i5 2500k (Sandy Bridge)
8GB of DDR3 1333 RAM
Sapphire 7970 Ghz edition Vapor X
120 GB Samsung SSD
2TB HD 5400 RPM
1050 Corsair PSU

The gain from memory performance alone is not worth the money, basically not noticeable but measurable. Currently 8GB is plenty for gaming.

save it. it's not you will gain something similar to when changing gpu. who knows, maybe we will see something higher than 1600 being a norm, then maybe we can realize more advantage from them.
