More about 1000 gaming recoomendations advice
  1. My almost 5 years old PC run skyrim and SC2 on ultra so this PC will overkill it easely (I doubt D3 will be PC heavy)

With the anouncement of the 7000 series a 6870 1gb is now 150$ (worth the extra money IMO)

I can't talk about the mobo your listed but I juvet bought as a gift to my bro an i5-2500 with this mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157271&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-RSSDailyDeals-_-na-_-na&AID=10521304&PID=4176827&SID=1dxmzy4bz0rdd

And realy I'm impressed about it for the low price but someone else might know more then me to compare both mobo.

As for the i5 yes everyone will reccomand it for gaming since the i7 do not perform any bether for gaming purpose.
