Hello All,

Brand new to this site, seems to be a lot of tech savvy individuals here. My question is this. I currently have a new Netgear WNDR4000 router or the N750 if you prefer. It is the newest simultaneous dual band 2.4 to 5ghz n router. My laptop however is an Asus X52F with an Atheros AR9285 adapter running Win 7 64 bit. If I was to purchase the Intel Centrino Ultimate N 6300 adapter, would it work in this laptop? I understand it has 3 antennae's, not sure how many the atheros has or if this a huge waste of time. I'm currently limited to 2.4ghz connection only. I understand the 2.4ghz is better for overall distance, however, my laptop never moves more then 20 feet line of sight from the WNDR4000 so the increased speed of the 5ghz would really be helpful. Or is there a better adapter? Not real keen on external usb dongles.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.
