So, I have an Asus P5QPL-AM Mobo that has a PCIe Express 2.0 x16 slot. Good graphic cards that use that kind of slot are really expensive, at least where I live. I want to buy a GTX 560 Ti and I can find way better and cheaper cards than this one at like half the price. Unfortunately, most of them need PCi Express 3.0 x16 slots. My question is, is it possible to use a PCIe Express 3.0 x16 intended card with a mobo that has a 2.0 x16 slot? If yes, any compatibility issues, since the 3.0 ones are newer.

You can use pcei 2.0, pcie 3.0 and pcie 1.1 x16 with each togther and be compatible

You also won't notice any performance drop with a 560ti

I see! Thank you! You just made my day! One more thing! Some cards mention 3.0 x16 and others plain 3.0. Is it the same thing?

x16 refers to the slot type. There are x1, x4, x8 and x16. Almost all grpahics card are x16 si is the longest pcie spec

The 3.0 refers to the pcie specification version, so 3.0 would be pcie version 3.0

I see. Would this one be compatible with my Mobo? http://www.zotacusa.com/geforce-gtx-650-ti-amp-zt-61103-10m.html It doesn't mention its slot type. Only the 3.0 part. Would you suggest that one to me? Btw I have a Corsair CX600M 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply.

The CX600 is a nice unit, running the non-modular version myself

What is your budget for a card? and what resolution are you goignt o play at, with what settings? the Zotac form their site is overpriced

The 650ti linked is an pcie 3.0 x16, that size of the slot is an x16
