P8z77-v lk vga not working

recently i wanted to start using a dual monitor set up and tried to put the 2nd monitor on the mobo vga port but doesn't receive a signal. Do I have to use both ports on my gpu(i need to get another dvi adapter if so) or is there a way to use the vga port on my mobo(im using 0908 asus bios and cant find any settings for it). Thanks

When you fit a PCI or PCIe graphics card, the on-board graphics adapter is automatically disabled to avoid a driver and Windows resources conflict. You can't use the integrated and non-integrated display adapters at the same time.
