Im a video editor looking to upgrade my rig to handle the new hd files as my old voodoo cant handle them anymore. I found these 2 systems and i really cant decide which would be better. any thoughts? as of today im leaning towards the 6950 but im really not sure.

or if you know of another combo deal which would work better under 1,000.

Either one is good. Me Personally i would do the 6950 build. If you don't like the GPU you can change it in the cart perhaps. to the GTX 560 in the other. I like combing AMD with NVIDIA. im not a fan of AMD's GPU's but the Processor is alsome. I like NVIDIA's drivers but Intel is good to. I like think AMD is more affordable. Your choice.

I would say no to both. You would be better off with a thuban 6 core than the FX-6100. Wait till next month and pick the 7850 when it launches. If you really want a system for video editing I suggest with intel builds to get a z68 motherboard. SSD caching built in. Buy your video card and a SSD for a wicked fast machine.
An i7 build with z68 is also a great way to go. Possibly will break the budget tho with your video card choice.

If you want an AMD FX get the 8 core version.

Here is how these systems should stack up in video editing.
