New egg, pre package for video editing(no gaming)

hi,

Im a video editor looking to upgrade my rig to handle the new hd files as my old voodoo cant handle them anymore. I found these 2 systems and i really cant decide which would be better. any thoughts? as of today im leaning towards the 6950 but im really not sure.

Either one is good. Me Personally i would do the 6950 build. If you don't like the GPU you can change it in the cart perhaps. to the GTX 560 in the other. I like combing AMD with NVIDIA. im not a fan of AMD's GPU's but the Processor is alsome. I like NVIDIA's drivers but Intel is good to. I like think AMD is more affordable. Your choice.

I would say no to both. You would be better off with a thuban 6 core than the FX-6100. Wait till next month and pick the 7850 when it launches. If you really want a system for video editing I suggest with intel builds to get a z68 motherboard. SSD caching built in. Buy your video card and a SSD for a wicked fast machine.

An i7 build with z68 is also a great way to go. Possibly will break the budget tho with your video card choice.
