Hi Everyone,

I am putting together some parts with the help of a friend, but I'm pretty "noob" at this. My price range is only around $700. I will be playing WoW, SWTOR, as well as whatever interests me that may come out in the future. Here are the parts my friend had put together for me, but I want to run it by some of you here to make sure its okay before I purchase. I am also wondering which is better...Radeon or NVIDIA. Which would you recommend? What about the vid card that is already with this guild, is the 550W fan enough to keep this cool?

Thanks!

This is what I am showing for you so far. I may have missed it but I believe you need to add a DVD player / burner to your list which should add an additional $20-$25 to your cost. You most likely will need a copy of Windows 7 which should add another $99 to the cost.

Antec BP550 Plus 550W $69

Far as AMD vs Nvidia each have their advantages. You will be able to play Star Wars with a 6750 but I feel you could get a signicant performance increase by just spending $30 to $50 more on the video card.

May want to consider this MSI N550GTX-Ti Cyclone videocard for $129 ($114 after rebate)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

The ratings for the Cyclone are great. 85% of reviewers give it 5 eggs.
With its after market cooler it should be very quiet if not silent
and it should be a good performance increase over the 6750.

Here are some benchmarks showing the performance difference between the two:

The 6750 and 500TI are both good choices (I like EVGA over MSI personally) but it's meant for HTPCs where you won't need the kind of horsepower that say, a 560TI would provide. Better would be to pay a few bucks more and get the 6790 - it's won Tom's "Best GPUs for the money" like six months in a row. Maybe try something like this:

Except for the video card that build looks pretty good for the most part.

I need to make a correction. I posted the wrong link on the performance comparison between the 6750 and the 550ti

Below are the correct benchmarks:

In response to g-unit, yes EVGA is awesome. Great company, High Quality Products

They're pretty much all I buy for NVIDIA anymore (Sapphire for ATI), plus their headquarters is like literally next door to where I work, so you know - got to support the local businesses.
