Okay I've been doing some more reading, let me get yalls opinion on these parts.

Approximate Purchase Date: This month

Budget Range: Whatever does the job but no more than 3k if we can help it.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, everyday use including movies(HD), school work, occasional photoshop.

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers, thermal paste, tools, webcam, or OS

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg

Country: U.S.

Parts Preferences: by brand or type: 27" + LED monitor (or HDTV), Intel

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: Not yet

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080, 1920x1200 (probably 1080p)

Additional Comments: Sound of fans is not an issue, just want to get the best bang for my buck as long as it will max out most things at 1080p on a single monitor/hdtv

Monitor:

It's a pretty good choice, good response time, LED backlight.

Personally I wouldn't go with an HDTV, there seems to be quite a difference in the image quality especially when reading text.
Might have changed since I last tried with an HDTV but at least 2010 HDTV's still seem to have issues with this.

So what you have is quite nice.

I doubt you will need to add a 2nd SSD any time soon. 512GB for games and apps should last a good while.

As for the 7970, you won't need to crossfire for a long time. at 1920x1080 it should pretty much just kill everything you throw at it :)

Case:

The case is not too big, but it is BIG. But while it is big it also has great airflow and...

The PSU is quite an overkill for the system, but it will sure provide good and clean power for current and future needs.

Other option for the SSD is Samsun 830, but it is somewhat more expensive.

But overall that is a rocking machine.

Thanks rvilkman! The PSU is a little overkill but if I plan on crossfire later it should keep up with another 7970 or newer card down the line. SSD's are expensive enough so I'll try this one and if its good I'll add a second one later.

Can anyone elaborate on my monitor choice or should I go with an hdtv? Also is that case too big?

The case is not too big, but it is BIG. But while it is big it also has great airflow and will fit your components with no issues whatsoever.
If you like the looks and want a solid case with lots of room to expand it's a good way to go.
