I have a question about my motherboard. It's a MS-5185 (I think by MicroStar?!?). Anyway, got a P200 here with a 32Mb EDO DIMM and want to upgrade it to 64Mb by adding another 32Mb DIMM.

Okay so far, but the motherboard manual goes on to tell me

a) 'Each RAS cannot exceed 16 pcs'
b) It's a bad idea to mix 3v SDRam and 5V EDO/FP.
c) Memory should be unbuffered.

Fine.
I assume the current EDO DIMM is 5v (from b above). I therefore need another 5v 32MB DIMM. I have two problems:

1) What on earth is this RAS business !?!?
2) Is it just me or is it very difficult to get 5v Unbuffered EDO DIMM's? Crucial has 5v Buffered EDO DIMMS - does it *really* matter?!?!

Any help would be very much appreciated!!

Paul
