Software Update

Is there any news on the proposed site software update, the problems I incur include

1. Can't upload Avatars or Sigs on the .co.uk site
2. I can use the .com site for this but when I try to access the forums I get re-directed to the .co.uk site
3. I have best answer totals in the .co.uk site that are different to the .com site, i.e. not added together
4. Can't see badges etc on the .co.uk forums and can't access the .com forums

Thanks.

More about software update
  1. We're hearing that the new platform will be ready to roll out sometime in the 1st quarter.
  2. Does it directly deal with any of the problems I have listed?
  3. We won't know until we get to see it. There will be a testing period where the moderator team will get to check for those kinds of issues.

That would not be the primary purpose of it if that's what you mean. This isn't a small update, it's a complete replacement of the existing software (thankfully). There's no way to predict whether those issues will still exist but if they do it will be for different reasons. Personally I'm hoping that the UK site vanishes altogether.

I can help you with problem #2 though. Check your PMs.

Was it something we said? :D
  6. Well I've managed to implement a permanent swith to the US server and I won't be going back.

I see different sections, badges, hammers etc, also lots of adverts! Thanks Randomizer [:bohleyk:1]

Now I don't have to keep switching servers everytime I want to update anything. [:beanoslim:2]
  7. There's no saying for sure, but I'm with randomizer on the hopes that we can completely eliminate the UK variant of the site. There's scant difference between the two iterations, and no great need for the separation of sites. We'll see what the new update brings.
  8. So peace, love and unity is what we strive towards, is that the software updates goal? :na:

    Merry Christmas.

  9. Merry Christmas!
  10. Isn't the political statement "Happy Holidays"

    [:mousemonkey:5]
  11. I never realised it was like that.

    Quote:
Don’t be ashamed to say “Merry Christmas.” I wear a button that says “Merry Christmas to Me.” When someone tells me “Happy Holidays,” I ask them what holiday they’re talking about and they say Christmas. Then I say, “Oh yeah, merry Christmas.” Christmas is Jesus Christ’s birthday. So have a happy, merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year
  12. I'm not the politically correct type.

Merry Christmas to you too! :D
  14. Merry Christmas!!

  15. Happy Holidays

  16. I've never liked "Happy Christmas" either. Not really sure why, it just doesn't sound right. It's as bad as "Merry Easter".
  17. Wierd huh, I've grown up with Happy Christmas, Happy Holidays seems to miss the whole theme for me.

I always say "Have an eggcellent Easter."

Ah well either way = Too much eatin and too much drinkin, wahey. [:fisshy:7]
  18. Will the new software enable the access of PM's in your profile page without having to view the right column?
  19. We don't have the details yet. Hopefully we'll know soon!

Well, im sure that if they knew what changes will be happening, they would already post the details, maybe some screen shots of the new layout, Ect.

Lets just sit back and relax and find/fix more computer issues. [:huntluck]
