CPU Upgrade Question

I have bought quite a few pieces to my new system below are the pieces

Case: Corsair 600t White Edition: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139005
PSU: Corsair HX 750: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139010
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LowPro 8GB: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00569K7LM/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
Aftermarket HSF: Spire Thermax Eclipse II: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003EI4P38/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

The three things I haven't bought so far are the motherboard, CPU, and video card.
Here are the ones I am thinking about getting:
Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth Z77: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131821
Video Card: Radeon HD 7870: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127662
CPU: ???

I would like to get a new Ivy Bridge CPU, but am at a cross for which model.

This computer will be mostly used for running virtual machines and gaming. Let's see some opinions ^.^

Sabertooth Z77 is a good board but I'm not sold on that Armor concept.
  2. MSI R7870 Twin Frozr HD 7870 = good choice for graphics card.
