Guys,

I finally have some cash to upgrade my system.
Looking for a new mobo, cpu, ram and gpu.

This would be my main computer.
I pretty much use it for gaming, browsing.....every day stuff.

So far, I've come up with this:

Mobo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157279

CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072
Not planning on OCing for now....
so maybe this is better?

As for the GPU, I was planning on going with the 560ti.

I've always used Nvidia.
But maybe it's time to give ATI a shot? ;)

RAM - will probably stick to Corsair. It has served me well over the years.
I saw that Gskill sticks are pretty cheap but not sure if they will last.

--------------------

I have a 23" monitor set at 1920x1080. Would like to run all games at that resolution with max settings
without any problems.

QUESTION: Would the I5 2500K be OVERKILL since I would be using the system for casual gaming, browsing, etc?
If I can save $ by going with AMD or an i3 instead and get enough power, I'm willing to downgrade.

Thank so much for any tips you may have!

Yes it would. You can get by with far less, actually.

Far better choice would actually be the i5-2400 or the i3-2120:

Corsair makes some excellent RAM, just don't get the model with the tall heat spreaders as if you ever decide to get a aftermarket cooler, it will make installing them difficult. G.Skill makes excellent RAM as well.

Can't go wrong with either one actually. ATI/AMD make some models that will perform way better for less money, but NVIDIA has one of the best brands on the market - EVGA.

Thanks!!

I realize I may not as much $ as I thought I had.

Can you guys recommend a processor similar to the i5 2500K that costs less?

I would love to stay with Intel but if I can go with AMD, spend less and get enough power for casual gaming, browsing and other "every day" stuff, I'm up for that. If not, I will just wait and save up some more cash.

A game that I would love to play in max settings is Diablo III (assuming it comes out some day...hah)

Any advice would be great!

Those are all good choices but definitely stick with 8GB.

Blizzard games aren't as resource intensive as a lot of the competition is (I played a ton of Diablo II and Starcraft II and I can run it on my current laptop with no problems). So that setup will run Diablo III easily.

You can't go wrong with either one but AMD is significantly less expensive than Intel is, but even the lowest end SB right now pretty much smokes anything AMD has.
