Whats up community,

So I just upgraded several components in my computer (Mobo, CPU, RAM) and everything is running great and smooth except now my PSU is making this high pitched buzzing/whining sound. Interestingly enough, when I start playing video games the sound diminishes and only comes back ever so often, but when I am just futzing around on the desktop or surfing the web, its their non stop. Although the sound is annoying, its manageable, but my main concern is that their might be something wrong with the PSU. I checked to make sure all the connections were solid and I know for a fact that the sound is coming from the PSU and not the GPU. The PSU is at least 6 years old and it is an Ultra brand 750w. My question to you fine folk is does anyone know why this is and if so can it be fixed? If it can't be fixed is it a hazard to my new components and if it is a hazard can you recommend a PSU that would work (preferably modular)? Thanks in advance for any help!
