funny sounds (are not funny)

i have just put together my homemade pc.the problem is that WHEN I POWER UP i get nothing on the moniter the light just flashes and then the motherboard SPEAKER starts to make sound like an ambulance until i turn the power off.

my kit

MB=ASUS A7V 133 SWITCHES ALL ON DEFAULT
CPU=THUNDERBIRD 1 GHZ
FAN=TAISOL CGK742092
MEM=CRUCIAL 256MB PC133
HARD DISK= IBM DESKSTAR 75GB IDE
VIDEO CARD=ELSA ERAZOR X2 32MB DDR (HAVE USED IN ANOTHER PC)

MONITER IS A PIECE OF [-peep-] BUT IT DOES WORK.

300 POWER SUPPLY BUT NOT AMD APPROVED

WOULD BE GREATFUL FOR ANY HELP

Look through all the post, this question was answered about a month ago. It's caused by overheating or out of specification voltages, most likely from a defective motherboard, maybe shipping damage, or even a bad power supply. Try the processor in a different board if you can, then try a different power supply on your board.

Well, there is probably something more serious than this that is wrong with your system, but there is one thing on the A7V133 that should NOT be left in the default position. The VIO jumper should be at 3.3V not 3.45V which the manual claims is default.
