I have about 6 computers running off of my wireless router (my new roomates router actually.) It seems that every few hours, the router wants to stop working. The strange thing is that the wireless works all the time, but the ethernet cords that are plugged into the router just stop working. Is it because of bit torrent?

I'm a newbie with routers and internet related stuff.
Thanks for any tips on how to fix it. :)

Probably. Does it do it when you're not using bit torrent? There was an earlier thread about this topic stating that the router might not be able to handle how bit torrent operates.. along with all the other computers running off it.
Put the PC with BT in the DMZ and see if that improves anything.

Bittorrent melted my old netgear router (literally). I dont think home routers are designed to handle that many simultaneous connections. My epia CL10000 (1ghz eden) w/ a 1gb of ram handles bt fine, lol.

It was an old one that had the modem, router, and switch in one unit. That sucker got so hot just idle I couldn't believe it was still working. BT was the last straw for it :)
