Win7 64bit not connecting to network printer Dell 2135cn (add Printer)

Hi all
Here is my problem. I have a Dell 2135cn MFP printer setup on my established network at home and all computers connect to it with no problems except 1

My win 7 64bit system will not connect to the printer when I try to add it, I get the error that states that the printer is not connected to the network. I can browse to the printer on 192.168.1.8 and see the print config page so i know its visable through port 80.

I then installed windows xp pro on a vmware on my win 7 64 bit system and then installed the printer on the vm OS with no problems so I know the problem is with the win 7 64bit instalation.

I have the latest drivers from dell and regardless of trying the setup the printer I cannot get the win7 64bit to see the printer during setup


Help would be appreciated

Have you checked your Device Manager for badly installed devices?

I deleted all the drivers and then re run the add printer wizard, seems to have cured the fault now. I can print again.
