Thats why you get reasonable fps......................LOL If you play at 1080p, im sure your fps will drop INSANELY!

Follow these steps;

Install latest nvidia driver:

Install Physx driver for nvidia:

after installation go to nvidia control panel-> phyx tab and set physx to "autometic"
form GTS 240.

i have gts250 and i played bf3 on ultra settings after installing latest driver and physx.

Yea, at a super low resolution  

I played All ultra settings with resolution 1024x768.

I played all ultra settings 9x6 with a potato.

All jokes aside here are my specs
Intel core i7 870 oced to 4ghz
6GB DDR3 RAM 1600MHZ
Geforce GTX 275 1792MB Single

With these specs playing at ultra settings minus MSAA and getting a rocksolid 30+ fps at 1680X1050.The lowest fps I get is only in one map and thats caspian border but even there the bare minimum I get is 25 fps.The game is less demanding than crysis 2 IMO.

@OP You do realize that your card is being bottlenecked,do you?At that resolution my gtx 275 gets a constant 70+fps at ultra settings WITH MSAA   That card isnt that much weaker than mine.Buy a decent monitor.You will actually see your fps increase

Play it at 1080P, with ultra details and settings, watch your frame rate drop

You need a new monitor.

I have installed MSI afterburner and i keep on checking frame rate while playing, that is 40-60 fps with resolution 1024x768 & ultra settings in bf3 and max setting in Nvidia control panel.

I have a notebook with a 540gt (witch is barely superior than a 240gt and close to a desktop 430gt ) and i can only run at low (medium texture and meshes) with 1366x768 resolution (average 30~40fps).

This thread hurts my head. Who even plays at that low of a rez anymore? Your also only playing in DX10 max.. which is WAY less demanding then DX11 since that card cannot even support DX11. But regardless, an XBOX console probably looks better visually then a 240 @ that low of a rez.. Just sayin.

The GT 430 is worse than the GT 240........

Thats because you are playing at such a low resolution 1024x768, most of us are playing at 1920x1080. If you played it at 1080P (1920x1080) your fps would be around 10-15fps.

Actually, the Majority of gamers use the resolution of 1280x720-1600x1050.

The low budget gamer, such as me.

Also, I play at 1280x1024 and my system is hardly lacking...
