Computer On/Off - New

I have just put together a new computer (for the first time in years) and it stays on for a second and turns off right away.

I have removed everything that is not essential (as per a google search) but I still cannot get the computer to stay on for more than a few seconds.

All the parts are brand new:

PSU: Corsair CX 600
Motherboard: Gigabyte Intel Z68 ATX DDR3 2133 LGA 1155
Processor: Intel Core i3-2100 Processor 3.1GHz 3 MB Cache Socket LGA1155
VIdeo Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 1024 MB

Anyone know what is happening?

Sounds like a RAM problem to me.

You should try to push it in hard to make sure it is all the way in the slot and try to start it up.

If that doesn't help, you can try the RAM in a different slot, or try the other RAM stick instead in each slot. Try a few combinations if necessary.

Did you make sure your CPU heatsink/fan/cooling system is properly attached with thermal paste? When a CPU gets hot enough it will shut off the computer due to thermal protection aka before your CPU fries.
