My signature refers to my "new" build. As in im about to get.

I just ordered. I was considering waiting for it on Amazon to see if price was lower but if i got free shipping on Amazon.com i would have to wait like a whole week so i just bit the bullet and ordered on newegg.com because i will get free 2-3 day shipping.

Do any of the programs you use take advantage of Hyper Threading (HT)? If not, then there is really no reason to get a Core i7 CPU. Games don't use HT and in past benchmarks HT can cause a 1% - 2% decrease in gaming performance. Not much, but it is a decrease.

Ivy Bridge uses a little less power than Sandy Bridge and in generally is slightly more power; about 3% or 4% on average. However, it does run slightly hotter which may affect overclocking potential.

The price of a Core i7-3770k is only 6% ($350 vs $330) more than the Core i7-2700k. That's not bad. You can say $10 will give you 3% - 4% more CPU power and the other $10 will get you the faster Intel HD 4000 integrated graphic core. The HD 4000 is definitely more powerful than the HD 3000, but not enough to really play games except on relatively low resolution like 1366x768.

I got the link from a thread and i too was not able to find the processor through search. But dozens of people ahve used the link according to replies on the thread and the website looks fine so everything is good i think.

Because i was previously expecting it to only be $320 but since i saw it at $340 i wondered if i should wait until i see it on amazon if there is a lower price.

They usually charge within 5 minutes for me. Even on huge orders.

It should be an automated process so if you buy it now, the charge to your credit card should not take very long. Of course you'll need to wait until Monday for a person to actually process your order; i.e. take it off the rack at the warehouse, put it in a box for shipment and all the other in between steps.

EDIT: NVM i just got the charge. I deposited just the right amount of money in my account for the CPU and the GTX680 so i was just making sure everything went okay. Speaking of the GTX680, do you guys know when they restock? it is the last piece to my new build.

Usually they do because it's all automated, however, depending on how large your order is, they may delay it a little bit.

GTX 680?

Whenever they get the next shipment.

There's an auto notify option which will send you an e-mail when there is more stock of a specific GTX 680. If you don't care which brand, then just do an auto notify for each GTX 680.

I have turned that Auto-Notify feature on about 10 times in the last month and they still havnt notified me. It even came into stock once and it didn't notify me for some reason.

I feel sort of dumb now because it probably did go to my junk folder and i would know because i check my mail on my Iphone which for some reason does not pick up mail in that folder. Oh well. Hopefully it comes in stock on monday so that i can build my pc on wednesday.

I only see like 4 or 5 of these i5 3570k on ebay and the cheapest is 280????

Just wondering if anyone else is having trouble finding this chip???

For some reason these CPUs cant be found by search on these sites. But there are link to the product pages posted on many forums. That is probably why theyre not sold out yet. And yes, the prices were high then previously predicted.

It's cuz there's high demand high hype and low supply. The price will be pulled higher.

Originally, Intel said it was going to be similarly priced compared to their sandy bridge counterparts. then weeks before release, the sort of recind the statement saying it will have a higher price(now ranging from 20-30$ on average) partially as a response to their currently slow profits.
