  1. Yes, why do you think you cant ?

I can guess that you may think that the PC system Ram needs to match the Graphics card Ram but that is not the case.
Most cards will be fine but it is always good to check for any specific issues your motherboard might have with certain Graphics cards. You can usually do this at the motherboard makers web site.

What are your system specs and what card are you fitting ?

    Mactronix :)
  2. yes, you can without any problem.

Unless its one of the very few combinations that don't play nice together which is why I suggested checking and did not just blindly say "yes, you can without any problem."
We don't know what board or card so cant say 100% that it will just work. Might need a Bios update for example.

correct! ;) but in generally it is possible.
  5. Well, say that than. ( in general ) ( or major )
  6. in general
  7. The "some combination" we refer to is the PCIe 1.0 mobo and PCIe 2.1 graphic card combination. You may have compatibility issue with them.

    Also what is your PSU?
  8. I have MSI MS-7525 motherboard,intel pentium dual core 2.40ghz proccessor,2gb DDR2 ram.can i install a DDR5 video card in PCIE x16 slot.
  9. yes, you can but which card?
  10. Ati Radeon HD5670
  11. fine do it, by the way what about your power supply?
  12. Its an HP so I guess not too good.

    And what pci-e version mobo is it ? 1.0 or 2.0 ?
  15. I think it was 1.0
  16. G31 chipset PCIe 2.0

Retract that. Let me look it up on Intel's site.
  17. oh nice...... from my side its all final and fine.

    oh! ***
  19. Actually 1.1
  20. Aha. Any dangers than with a 2.1 card ?
  21. I think it wil be fine. But all we are doing is talking amoung ourself and PO show no indication of what gpu to get. I mean if the gpu is 2.0, then everything we worried and talked about is irrelevant.

So what is the exact card you are getting Sukhpreet?
  22. hmmm.
  23. Yeah, love those discussions without hearing anything from the op anymore.

Maybe it's night time where the op lives.
  24. OP is still here. You can see the little online person.
  25. hhahah yeah OP still online
  26. ASUS ati hd5670
  27. its ok man install it.
  28. Sorry guys but i am not very good in english
  29. i think you are indian am i right?
  30. What is the PSU. I know 5670 does not require power connection but if the PSU is really crap, it will not power up.
  31. No problem, i'm not very good with your language :D

Anyway, our mistake you allreday stated the 5670.

@ pro gamer ; you really are 100 % sure the 2.1 card will work with the 1.1 mobo ? You gonne give him his money back when it doesn't ?

    I have a 1.0 mobo with a 6870 and that @#*# 2.1 card doesn't work with it !!!!
  32. I know what you mean robjordy. I was there when you had that problem. But I think 1.1 is ok with 2.1

aha! that's what i am saying
  34. Its more complicated than just saying 1.0 boards and 2.1 cards have had issues. However its a good generalisation for a starting point.
There are other instances of comparability issues which are outside that assumption which is why I recommend the OP to check with the board manufacturer.

    Mactronix :)

  36. So,its good for me or not.
  37. i would say it's good.
  38. Yeah if your powersupply is up to it, still don't know that.

    I would have a 6670 though.
