Final Gaming Build - Your Thoughts

Hello all. I'm back with my finalized build, and I'd like to hear everyone's opinion before I pull the trigger. I'm trying to stay in the $800 area or less. This PC is mainly going to be used for gaming (Guild Wars 2, Diablo, etc.)


NZXT 210 Elite $50

Corsair Gaming Series 600W Power Supply $85

Intel i5-2500k $180 (MicroCenter)

ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 Motherboard $122

Mushkin 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3 1600 RAM $45

Sony 24x SATA DVD+/RW Drive $18

Western Digita Caviar Blue 500 GB HDD 7200RPM $75

Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2GB $200

That's everything I have far. Sorry I can't include the links right now, since I'm not using my computer.

Also, I am aware that the HD 7850 is a slightly better graphics card for a similar price, but I have a good deal through a co-worker on the 6950, so I think I'm going to stick with that unless someone else can point me toward a $200 card of equal ability.

since your going to microcenter anyways get the 3570k for just $9 more and pick up one of the motherboards listed here and save a bit. and get better performance while using a lot less power.

consider the i5 3570K and the ASrock Z77 Extreme 4

If you could get the 7850 that would be a better GPU choice for only a bit more.

Thank you. Awesome combo that looks like it'll save me a lot of money when bundled with the ASRock Z77 board.

However, when I try to add the processor to my cart, it won't go. I assume they are't for sale/active yet? Any idea?

The processors come out in the next week.

Yeah - just called and asked. The processors are available today, but the online deal/purchase isn't working yet for some reason. They said that it should start working sooner rather than later.
