Hey I have been upgrading my computer for BF3, SKYRIM, CS:GO, Diablo 3 and games like that and would like some help from the very knowledgable ppl on this site :D

Ill start off by saying I love playing competitively and have been for many years so when I buy I want the best or close to it.
I just bought a 120hz monitor so I should be good there, its the viewsonic vx2268wm.
Secondly I just bought a HT Striker 7.1 sound card and was wondering how well it goes with the astro a40 wired headset through optical, and/or if you guys have some other recommendations/opinions about a headset with that sound card for great sound quality and great 3d positioning and surround for footsteps and gunfire and what not - however I would really like to be able to use it on the 360 and ps3 so I need it to be multiplatform.

Another thing is I was wondering if I should get a GTX 560 ti and then SLI it not too far down the road, or just get the GTX 570 single card solution? I am trying to get the most out of my 120hz monitor but without absolutely KILLING my pockets. Any recommendations/opinions for a good solution to get the most out of my monitor and gaming would be highly apprectiated :]

I will be playing at 1680x1050 resolution

I will be doing my shopping this holiday season and most likely black friday/cybermonday. So any deals for great gaming equipment would be really appreciated as well.

I am not 100 % sure what my motherboard supports for sli or if it could sli 560 ti's so that would be nice if that was cleared up but thats not big deal.

Any suggestions for system are appreciated too :DDDD

CORE SYSTEM :
AMD Phenom II x4 945 am2+ running at 3.2ghz with zalman heat sink ( should I clock higher?)
Patriot gaming ram 4gb pc6400 ddr2 800
ASUS M3N72-D AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
160gb seagate HD
bfgtech gts250 1gb 256 bit ( upgrading - see previous )
HT Striker 7.1 PCI sound card

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Go Radeon HD 6950, unlock to 6970, and overclock. Your new $250 overclocked 6970 will outperform the $350 GTX 570 at that high resolution. In fact, if you clock it high enough, you'll be nipping at GTX 580 scores.

Crossfire months later to bolster your performance, when card prices drop drastically.

not to mention when gtx 570 is overclocked it can outperform the overclocked hd 6970. :)

Sure at $100 price difference. It also has less overhead for overclocking, and good luck a year from now with 1.25GB of video memory.

Besides for $100 more than a single 570, you can just crossfire two flashed 6970 cards. SLi 570 cards still leaves you at 1.25GB VRAM.

so i shouldnt get a 560 ti and then sli a month or two down the road? or should i get a 6950 and then crossfire?? (have to get new motherboard for xfire) or should i stick with a single card solution? i have always used nvidia .. but how do u think my system would run bf3 with one of these upgrades? i dont think i need ultra settings... maybe high so i can get closer to meeting 100+fps on 1680x1050

my friend, get single nvidia gtx 570 faster and better and i'm sure your pc can play it in maxed setting with 1680x1050.
