Help on building a Gaming PC

I'm looking into building a PC for gaming, mostly MMOs like the old republic, but would also like to be able to play Battlefield 3. I'm not to confident in what choices to make on CPU and Graphic cards. i would like to keep my budget around $800 or so. Any recommendations on good CPU and Graphic cards would be great.

Do you need the OS? Do you plan to overclock? What settings do you prefer? What resolution do you play at?

If you do need OS... probably go with an AMD system... that would require totally different combos.

With that saved money I would consider a 600 watt psu 500 isn't bad but it will limit your future expansions with that card.

^Good eye, and agreed. However, 6870 is probably a better card for better BF3 performance and future titles. (even though I linked a 6850, if we can cram in a 6870).

I agree I actually have a 6870 and a amd x6 and I run on all settings high 1600x1200 with very sold fps.

The budget of $800 is that for the complete Pc build or just for the cpu and gpu and how much are you allowing for those two if your budget is for a complete Pc build.
