Hello community!

I was hoping for some input on how I should create a computer that is exceptional for animation, particularly using Maya and Adobe Flash. Side specializations in video editing, and gaming would be nice as well. I have an idea of where I should be allocating most of my money, but I was hoping people could give their opinion as to what would be the best for my computer.

My budget is around 1200 - 1300 dollars, and I already have the two monitors I need. Here's the setup I was thinking, please feel free to give suggestions!!

Motherboard - $210

Processor i5 Sandy Bridge 2500k - $220

Video Card 2GB DDR5 - $300

RAM 16GB - $135

Power Supply - $75

Case - $90

Solid State Drive - 120 GB- $200

What do you think?

You have for the most part made good selections however the ram you chose is out of stock and deactivated and the read/write speeds on the Intel SSD are pitifully slow.

Corsair Force Series GT CSSD-F120GBGT-BK 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
$189.99 and a $30 rebate makes it $159.99

Check out the read/write speeds of this SSD. I have three of the 180gb versions.

CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B

Antec High Current Gamer Series HCG-750 750W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V v2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
$99.99 and a $15 rebate along with a $10 promo code if purchased today or tomorrow.

Your other choices are good.
