Does anyone know a brand called "Memory Card"?

I'm thinking of buying something like this:

PC-133 SDRAM / 256 MB ECC / 32Mx72-75 / 168

For an Athlon system w\ A7V133 (yet to be purshaced...)

Is it good? I don't know anything about memory. HELP!

I have never heard of that brand name. I would go with Crucial or Mushkin. Samsung and corsair are also not to bad. Crucial will probable be your best buy. Make sure it is CAS2/CL2

Someday I will stop asking all the questions!

Their Website is: http://www.memory-card-technology.com/

I'm buying it from a company with a very high reputation here in Portugal.
I don't even know what ECC means!!! I know that it costs more... I assumed it'd be better :)

BTW, I always see people getting 2 x 128 instead of 1 x 256... why?

Thnx

For your information, they're at: http://www.memory-card-technology.com/

They're danish, maybe they have butter memory!

What do you think?

Also, (sorry for this question) is there a big difference between CL2 and 3?

Thanks

ecc is error checking corecting ram it is more expensive then regualr ram and it is ussaly only used in servers it is also slower when ECC is enabled i would check how much non ECC is becuase it is proabbly going to be cheaper

get cl2 or also know as cas 2 it reffers how long in clock cycles that it will take memory to start givening datat bck once it is asked
at least that how i think you explain it
in simpler terms it is a little faster
this is only true if all your ram is running cl 2

you can also go to crucial.com they have good ram and some pertty good prices i would compare prices aginst them

i would go with the 256 mb becuase it gives you more rooom for upgrading in the future becuase it will leave more slots
but make sure your Mobo doses't have to have two slots full to work
Edited by wapaaga on 03/05/01 09:17 PM.
