Will this upgrade work out for my system?

My system is as follows:
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Quad processor Q8300 [2.5GHz, 4MB L2, 1333MHz FSB]
4GB DDR2 Ram
1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 220
250w PSU (stock)

I'll be upgrading my ram to 8GB DDR2 as well as my graphics card to a EVGA GTX 550 Ti Fermi 1GB 192-bit. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how big of an improvement I'll see (mostly FPS-wise) in current games such as Star Wars: The Old Republic, Diablo 3, etc.

Obviously I'll be upgrading my PSU as well to a 500w Rosewell ATX12V.

Will this upgrade be bottlenecked by my system or will I see a huge performance improvement in most games?

Thanks in advance

More about will upgrade work system
  1. The graphics card will be a massive increase.
DO NOT BUY a 500watt Rosewell power supply if you like and want to keep your computer. They are pure garbage. known to blow and kill other components with it.
Post a budget for the power supply and we will post a much better supply in your budget.

  2. Interesting, I figured it was a decent product due to the 4/5 rating on Newegg out of 500+ customers. It seems like most products for this watt are ~$50 on newegg but I am a bit flexible.

If this product is well known to fry other components then I sure as hell won't take the risk...
