Hello,

I was looking at this chip on newegg - Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-RSSDailyDeals-_-na-_-na&AID=10521304&PID=4176827&SID=1s3v3gk8zxn3p. What does the (3.8 GHz Turbo) mean?

The above chip is being sold on Newegg for $249. A Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz LGA 1155 Processor is being sold at Micro Center for $190 - http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0388577.

Is the "turbo" worth the extra money? Should I buy the Micro Center chip instead?

Thanks

They are the same, just newegg listed turbo. Both chips have turbo boost and are the same! Buy the Microcenter chip because it is cheaper, and they give you $50 off of a mobo!

Turbo boost depends on a program that uses a certain amount of cores.
For example:
4 cores 3.5ghz
3 cores 3.6ghz
2 cores 3.7ghz
1 core 3.8ghz
