Linksys wrt54gv2 extension

Hi, I have 2 routers one is a Netgear WNR1000v2 and the other is a Linksys WRT54gv2.. The Netgear router is used as the main wireless router connected to the modem downstairs. Since I had an extra router I was wondering if I could extend the range of the wireless broadcasting by using the Linksys router as a wireless extension of the netgear router.

I was wondering if anybody could give me a step-by-step guide on how this is done?

bump! Is it even possible in the first place? are the signals compatible to enable the wrt54gv2 extend the wireless broadcast of the WNR1000v2 router?

you will need to upgrade the firmware with DD_WRT
