Hey guys so I am building my own computer and here is what I've grabbed so far.

ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z/GEN3, G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB 1333, Evga GeForce GTX 550 Ti, a 750w modular ps, all in a Raidmax mid tower. I went and splurged on four of the 8g ddr sticks due to a ridiculous one day sale. What do you guys think? Oh and I am most likely going with the i5 2500k, on a windows 7 64 bit.

Nice mobo, Great PSU.

You would have done fine with 2x4GB of 1600Mhz ram, but on the other hand you won't get hindered much by the 1333 and you really don't need 32GB of RAM :)

The case should be ok.

The GPU seems underpowered for the build, but not sure how much gaming you planned on doing anyway. For gaming 560Ti would have made more sense.

Just need to figure out what storage to get and you should be set.

Thanks for the quick response :)

Yeah I figured I'd pick up four and throw two my brothers way. I wasn't sure how much of a difference the 192bit would make, but now you've got me worried haha. Im planning on waiting out the floods to grab a new WD hdd, unless newegg decides to run a sale.

If you plan on overclocking, an aftermarket cooler would be a good investment. Either one of these would be nice:

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Compatible with latest Intel 1366/1155 and AMD FM1/AM3+ $44.99

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" Long Life Sleeve 120mm CPU Cooler Compatible Intel Core i5 & Intel Core i7

I don't know when hard drive prices will drop enough but this hard drive seems pretty reasonable:

Seagate Barracuda ST500DM002 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive $84.99
