If you don't have OS then you might as well go with Windows 7 because of DirectX.
About reducing costs you could get a Z68 motherboard instead of that one.Or maybe even a P67.
You could also use RAM sticks from another brand

I personally would only get pro 64 bit for a gaming system.

I dont really count cases and monitors as part of a build since you usually have these already so $1100 isnt too bad for what your getting.

On the haf932, contact asus and see how much current their motherbd fan headers support. You might not be able to run the case fans off the motherbd.

Add in a CM Hyper 212+ or Evo to your build along with another 120mm cpu fan and run in a push-pull config. The last thing you want with a nice quiet case like the 932 is a stock fan buzzing away at full speed.

i got out of gaming over 8 years ago. but since battlefiled 3 came out and i did see all the videos and talked to alot bf3 players i just need get into it again lol. just started play 1942 couple months back again. and want stay with it. love the server im playing on and the game play. well windows 7 pro it is then.

memory. is cheap. so i not think it matter the brand. as long its a good one.
about case. i think about the future. i will contact asus about it. would you recommend any other full tower case ??

now the GPU. gtx570 for bf3 or would a gtx560 ti enough . ?

i did check on the CM Hyper 212+ or Evo. since its only a 5 dollar difference i will go with the EVO.
thanks for the advice.

You have a fine build. If you want to save money there are some fine z68 boards you can consider. You can also drop down to a HAF 912 case. A gtx 480 is about the same as the gtx 570 for about 209.00. It is a fine card and would fit in what you have listed. A cpu cooler like that CM 212 is nice but not needed until you OC the i5.

The thing about UTRA in BF3 is maxx AA. If you turn it on you need the gpu ram that a 570/480 card has. Otherwise, you have to keep it off or run with the FXAA driver.

OC would not be needed in the near future i believe. about the GTX480 i fund this one at neweeg

EVGA 015-P3-1480-KR GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

250 dollar

EVGA 012-P3-1570-AR GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

300 dollar

i did try to find benchmark results fot the gtx480 in battlefield 3. but did not get lucky yet. well its only a few min. but i will check it out. thanks

how old are you ? they just to cheap ? lol. im sure they do just fine. and if 300 dollar is to cheap for a GPU to play games in ultra settings (or most settings in ultra) then then you should rethink your priorities is life.
thats my opinion on that. all this is already more then a wanted to spend. . if it be any more id get a play station . so 1300 to 1400 dollars is more then enough for gaming

Ultra + maxx AA vs Ultra + mid AA vs FXAA vs FXAA + mix with AA.

The 570 is a good card, but at a 64 player out door map, if you are scraping by 30 fps you will want to play with the AA settings.

IMO the 3-4 frames a 480 is behind a 570 don't justify the 50-100 dollar jump. The 570 is not the wrong call...just one I call to close for such a price jump. A 480 can OC to close the gap btw.

All in all, you have a fine build. Let us know how it works out.

i never bin a fan of ATI or now AMD. the 7870 is 50 dollars more. and in battlefield 3 benchmarks right in between the gtx570 and 580.
so i stay with the 570 for now
thanks

but i am open for any ideas and advice on my whole setup. not only GPU. i want get the most and best for the money i spend.

I will go against the grain here. You do not want the AMD gpus, fine. Are you aversed to AMD cpus too? The AMD PHII 965 X4 @ 3.8Ghz(OC), stock voltage will match the performance of the 2500K. All this while saving you $$s to upto 100. :) Maybe then the 7870 is not a bad call then. So, the 965 sells for 125$, the AM3 mobos are dirt cheap too. Not to mention the kickass power saving from the 7800 series graphic cards. I know the 2500k is still the better CPU, & in 64 player multiplayer maps you will see a drop in FPS, but truth be told, you will have much better FPS count on a 965+7870 combo rather than the 2500K+gtx 570 combo. GL!!! :)

well im happy for you. and i will keep my opinion for that to my self. as i only look for advice and help here and not for your kids dream come true

Hi :)

I suspect that was a badly designed grammatical insult but no matter...

The point I was making is that a many here know I own Computer and laptop Companies in the UK....

When I say a card is cheap....its because we sell ALL Graphics cards from cheap to drastically expensive....

It wasnt even a matter of opinion, it was a FACT....

By the way , I am 59 (kids dreams would be nice lol)

All the best Brett :)

Brett, no need to advertise your computer shop...just provide helpful info to OP. :wahoo:
