Upgrading GPU

Hey guys,
So my specs are:

CPU: Intel i5 750
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500
Mobo: Asus P7P55M Intel chip set
Ram: 4gb

Running Windows 7 64-bit

I'm hoping to pick up a new GPU during cyber Monday that will let me run Skyrim on ultra. I was hoping you guys could offer me some suggestions on some good cards to look at and tips for increasing FPS.

An HD6950 is at both the sweet spot in price and performance so I'd definitely go with that. However I see that your motherboard is mATX, is your case mATX? I'm not sure how much heat the 6950 pumps out but it could get hot in a small case.

By the way, what resolution are you running at? You could get a less powerful card if you're running at a lower res than, say 1920 x 1080.

Nah, the 6950'll be fine heat-wise. It won't get you Ultra, though, especially not with the CPU. Skyrim is CPU-limited, but a 6950 will still bottleneck Ultra.

Maybe if his monitor is lower than 1920x1080 he could push for ultra? I don't know, I guess it would still be held back by the processor.

Oh yeah, with low resolution you'd be fine.
