Why when you update your Avatar does your previous Avatar appear before the new one is approved.

I have tried removing the current one then updating but the previous one still appears before the new one.

Yes, typically when you switch your avatar, your old one appears until your new one is reviewed and approved by system adminstratives. This can take up to 24 hours or so (I've seen).

Just wondered why if you remove it 1st it doesn't just stay blank until the new one appears.

No biggie, just that sometimes the sig is related to the Avatar and doesn't make any sense.
