Gateway Profile 4 red flashing power button?

I have a Gateway Profile 4 that just failed. When I press the power button fan comes on, hd, cd and built-in display too but power button flashing red and no boot. This happened shortly after installing additional memory and after booting up successful. I have restored the orginal memory and get same flashing red button. P.S. power supply is external.

Note: Removed cmos battery and reinserted. Power button is now solid red light (no flashing) when turned on. System still not booting.

"" What does it mean when the Gateway Profile 4 power on button stays "RED"? System does not start? It is some sort of error indicator that Gateway uses on all computers?
